Honeymoon Grande Ocho Rios

We had a fantastic time at Sandals Grande Ocho Rio's Jamaica! They treated you like Queens and Kings there. During the day it seemed like a party spot with up beat music, and it was all inclusive so all we had to do is go up to the bar and grab a drink before hitting the beach or pool! Of course you always heard "yeah mon" "No problems Mon" and such there.. which by the end of the week we caught ourselves talking the same way to them. One guy told Mark he sounded Jamaican! haha.

While there we went snorkeling twice. We really enjoyed snorkeling! The water was crystal clear and it seemed unreal to see a school of fish swimming right past you. We also went on an excursion were we got to get on the party boat, snorkeling and we went to see a waterfall. But when I say waterfall I mean we walked up the middle of the waterfall. That was alot of fun. We got sooo wet! They made us sit underneath it and have to yell "yeah mon!!" at the top of our voices! lol Lets just say they are all about partying lol The boat ride was fun because they had these two huge nets at the front of the boat that you could sit on. Well the ride out to the waterfall was very calm. However, after snorkeling when we were on our way back to the resort, they hit every big wave which caused a huge wave of water to come up onto the boat which made every passenger soaked! There were a few guys laying on the net looking down at the water waiting for the huge wave to knock the wind out of them. It was very entertaining.

When the sun went down they would turn the whole resort into romantic dinners and always having a romantic atmosphere. Every dinner would be a candle light dinner and the hostess would pull out your chair, put your napkin in your lap and hand you the menu. You could order as much food as you like! They always came out looking very fancy! Of course it isn't like America the food portions were very small.. but we always got full and always felt like we had a four course meal. In America alot of people probably don't know what a four course meal looks like!!! After dinner, Mark and I would normally walk down the beach and lay out looking at the sky with the sound of the ocean hitting the sand. It was very peaceful!

Our room wasn't the fanciest. However, we had our own private pool outside our room. We had to share with our neighbors, however our neighbors NEVER used it. We never actually saw them. Most of the time we would take a glass of champagne out there and take a night dip before going to bed.

Another thing is that the people that worked at the resort was very nice and friendly! They always came up and talked to you and tell you about new things to do and was willing to help you no matter what. We actually lost our digital camera on tuesday and we were really upset about it. But come Wednesday evening someone came up and found us and said "Hey mon... you loose something?" We were so relieved!!! Also while you walked around they would take pictures of you there. They would ask you to pose infront of the ocean like models and take your picture. We ended up buying some of them because they actually looked pretty good! They are also very talented! They would put your drink on their head and serve it to you that way... even on our boat ride! During the rocking and waving of the boat, the server came up with my drink on her head and even DANCED!!! It was nuts!!!

Over all it was fantastic!!! It went by way to fast, however we were ready to come home in the end. Jamaica is a very very poor country... Outside of the resort it was very sad looking... and I would be scared to walk alone. But inside the resort it was beautiful! I would highly recommend going to somewhere like this. Sandals does live up to their expectations!

Here are some other random pictures:

The pool

These were like bikes/paddle boats. We didn't try them because it seemed like to much work :D
Marks nickname in college was Skippy.. So we found this pretty entertaining!

Our Wedding

Thats right!! We finally got hitched!! I don't think it would have been any better the way things went! The only thing that would have been better was if everyone could have made it! Our wedding was at 2:00 p.m. on September 5th, 2009. Here are a few pictures of the night that I have.
Here is my bouquet! They were real flowers and my Aunt Martina did all the bouquets!

Unfortunately I got sick the day before the wedding.. :( I couldn't breath for the life of me.. so this is my taking my medicine before the ceremony! A word to the wise no matter if it isn't cold or not don't go swimming at night haha.
Mark and I have always thought this was the prettiest church ever!!

A whole 12 pounds!!!

These were our centerpieces! My Aunt Martina did it all!!

Here was the grooms cake. It's Marks work emblem.

Memphis Trip

A few weekends ago Mark and I bought a new car :D Very exciting!! Especially since I really really needed it. My car was truly on its last leg. It seemed like every week there was something wrong with it. So we decided to participate in the whole "cash for clunkers" deal and we got us a brand spanking new car :D
Pretty sweet eh? Its a dodge Journey 09'! And I absolutely love it! Well since we got a new car we decided to take a trip in it! We went to Memphis to see Tony and Sarah. Tony just got out of the hospital from removing his gal bladder. Funny story is that Sarah was in a month before Tony and had practically the same procedure. Needless to say, they have the same scar marks. It was quite comical. :D

Well when we got there, being out of school for a week for Tony we let him have a few hours to study, we went to the Memphis Zoo. It was alot of fun! Sarah, Mark and me had a blast. The Memphis Zoo is enormous! They had animals there that you wouldn't see at a smaller zoo. Here are some pictures of the amazing animals :D Especially the Panda's!!

And we loved the Bee Hive exhibit!!

Also the wonderful polar bears!!

Over all it was a great zoo.. we saw a sea lion show which made Mark and I want to get a sea lion instead of a dog... haha.. I told him we would have to get a BIG pool!

When we got back from the zoo we decided to take a night out on the strip!! We went to a really small BBQ place called Rendezvou which was pretty good and then we went walking down the strip!

This guy was the entertainment for the night. He was singing a bunch of great songs and one of them was "I just called to say I love you" And right when he hit the punch line of "I love you" he pointed to me and Mark and said "She Loves you!" lol it was pretty entertaining!

They had these random goats at one of the clubs called Lucky O'Sullivans. They literally lived there and walked around their "Castle".

And yes, we all drank out of this bucket of drunkiness.. it was the grossest thing I've ever drank! I was more into my Strawberry Daquiri.

I was more into my Strawberry Daquiri.

Pilot Rock

Well Mark finally took me to the famous Pilot Rock in Kentucky. Its approx. 15-20 minutes from Marks house... He and his buddies always seems to go there for a guys day and I always give him a hard time about never taking me.. Well, he finally caved! His friend Dustin and him took me for a 3 hour hike all over Pilot Rock.. And when I say all over I mean ALL OVER we went on top of it, at the bottom of it, as well as THROUGH it! It was fun!

The Famous Pilot Rock!!!

On top of Pilot Rock looking over KY

Like I said... we went THROUGH Pilot Rock

I didn't climb up this one but they were very proud of themselves
once they reached the top!!! It was major team work between both of them!

Mark made me nervous hanging out on the edge like this.. haha..

We were very tired at the end of our 3 hour journey....

But we had a blast!!! It was a great workout as well as time together! :D

I feel accomplished in life! :D We are going to go to Sandals Grande Ocho Rios! We will be there for entire week.. and I often go to the sandals website and get very very excited about going!!!

Doesn't it just look romantic and fun!!!! Its an all-inclusive so its going to be great knowing that for a week of fun, we won't have to worry about money! Just being together!!

Here is our room layout!!! It shows that we will have a pool outside our door! So that is very exciting!! That way after a long day at the beach if we are tired and just want to stay close to our room at night, we can take a refreshing dip in the pool! Yay!

Wedding Gitters

So ever since I got engaged it seems like alot of my married friends are going through divorces or troubling issues which could lead into a divorce. Some have been married for a while, while others haven't even made it to a year yet! I know that Mark and I will make it. I know that deep in my heart... But its still scary to be planning your wedding and then get terrible news from close friends about how they are going through this horrible time.. It seems like in todays time marriage isn't a taken as a sacred commitment. I was raised on the concept that marriage/wedding was a one time deal. You make that commitment there isn't any turning back. It seems like now its a.. "well lets take the next step and try it out" kind of deal. Its definatly scary, and sad. My heart goes out to all those couples that are struggling and dealing with these issues. Whenever I am bummed by such news, Mark knows exactly how to make me feel better and I think he understands my concern. Has anyone else felt this way before?

Aunt Me to the rescue

This weekend I am going to Madisonville, KY to help my mom take care of my nieces and nephews. Its going to be complete mayhem. Julie and Bill went to San Fransisco, CA for a get away trip, and my mom volunteered to watch the little ones. You may not know my sister and her kids but its always crazy at her house. I mean you have a house with 4 kids under the age of 5, it gets interesting and crazy all at the same time. I'm not going to get there until Saturday morning. I decided I'll try and make chocolate chip cookies with Bailey and Jake, from scratch. Saturday night we are going to travel to Dickson and stay the night at Mom and Dad's house.

As for Friday night, Whitney has prepared an awesome surprise 21st birthday party for her boyfriend Justin. She rented out the tap room in Clarksville from 6:30 until about 10. The tap room is a bar for those who are not in Clarksville. It should be pretty fun. I've always wanted a surprise party while growing up.... I hope Justin is surprised!

This Sunday will be our last Lifenight for the church group that I am in charge of. We are having a movie night and are going to watch "The Passion of Christ." I told the teens to wear their PJ's but lets see how many actually wear their PJs since we are going to church first. :D haha

Yesterday I joined the skype group. I got a new computer because apparently when you drop a laptop it breaks! Who would have thought! Puh! I was shocked. So I got a new one with a web cam and thought "why not!" So I'm hoping to get some friends with web cams and goof off with it. It'll def. be handy for the friends that don't live around me and have kids and stuff like that, so you can see them and talk face to face. :D So much better than using the phone.

Also yesterday, Marks dog was at my house and I love him to death however he is NOT a house dog. He decided to make my coffee table into a chew toy. Wasn't that nice of him?? grrr... I was really frustrated.. At Marks house he normally leaves him outside but at my house I can't do that because I'm in the middle of a neighborhood, so he's a bit trapped.

Well that's my first blog. I'm sure they will get shorter some times and sometimes longer.. but hope you enjoyed!
