Honeymoon Grande Ocho Rios

We had a fantastic time at Sandals Grande Ocho Rio's Jamaica! They treated you like Queens and Kings there. During the day it seemed like a party spot with up beat music, and it was all inclusive so all we had to do is go up to the bar and grab a drink before hitting the beach or pool! Of course you always heard "yeah mon" "No problems Mon" and such there.. which by the end of the week we caught ourselves talking the same way to them. One guy told Mark he sounded Jamaican! haha.

While there we went snorkeling twice. We really enjoyed snorkeling! The water was crystal clear and it seemed unreal to see a school of fish swimming right past you. We also went on an excursion were we got to get on the party boat, snorkeling and we went to see a waterfall. But when I say waterfall I mean we walked up the middle of the waterfall. That was alot of fun. We got sooo wet! They made us sit underneath it and have to yell "yeah mon!!" at the top of our voices! lol Lets just say they are all about partying lol The boat ride was fun because they had these two huge nets at the front of the boat that you could sit on. Well the ride out to the waterfall was very calm. However, after snorkeling when we were on our way back to the resort, they hit every big wave which caused a huge wave of water to come up onto the boat which made every passenger soaked! There were a few guys laying on the net looking down at the water waiting for the huge wave to knock the wind out of them. It was very entertaining.

When the sun went down they would turn the whole resort into romantic dinners and always having a romantic atmosphere. Every dinner would be a candle light dinner and the hostess would pull out your chair, put your napkin in your lap and hand you the menu. You could order as much food as you like! They always came out looking very fancy! Of course it isn't like America the food portions were very small.. but we always got full and always felt like we had a four course meal. In America alot of people probably don't know what a four course meal looks like!!! After dinner, Mark and I would normally walk down the beach and lay out looking at the sky with the sound of the ocean hitting the sand. It was very peaceful!

Our room wasn't the fanciest. However, we had our own private pool outside our room. We had to share with our neighbors, however our neighbors NEVER used it. We never actually saw them. Most of the time we would take a glass of champagne out there and take a night dip before going to bed.

Another thing is that the people that worked at the resort was very nice and friendly! They always came up and talked to you and tell you about new things to do and was willing to help you no matter what. We actually lost our digital camera on tuesday and we were really upset about it. But come Wednesday evening someone came up and found us and said "Hey mon... you loose something?" We were so relieved!!! Also while you walked around they would take pictures of you there. They would ask you to pose infront of the ocean like models and take your picture. We ended up buying some of them because they actually looked pretty good! They are also very talented! They would put your drink on their head and serve it to you that way... even on our boat ride! During the rocking and waving of the boat, the server came up with my drink on her head and even DANCED!!! It was nuts!!!

Over all it was fantastic!!! It went by way to fast, however we were ready to come home in the end. Jamaica is a very very poor country... Outside of the resort it was very sad looking... and I would be scared to walk alone. But inside the resort it was beautiful! I would highly recommend going to somewhere like this. Sandals does live up to their expectations!

Here are some other random pictures:

The pool

These were like bikes/paddle boats. We didn't try them because it seemed like to much work :D
Marks nickname in college was Skippy.. So we found this pretty entertaining!
